Merry Christmas!
To all S.A.D., non-S.A.D., and those who belong to neither category:
Christmas is a season for forgiveness and goodwill.
When everybody cares only for his own interests,
and insists unnecessarily on his own dogma,
conflicts, tension, and wars develop.
Since we entered the 21st century,
tension has been mounting, and surfacing, throughout the world.
From Continental US to Spain, from the Middle East to the Straits of Taiwan,
near, far, hotspots are everywhere.
Nobody wants anything to happen.
Whoever you are, whatever you do,
our visions, aspirations, plans for the future,
large scale, small scale,
will all be affected.
Christmas is a time when this message should be shouted out loud:
Listen, Understand, and Forgive!
Whether is it between family members, friends, couples, politicians, tribes, countries, etc, etc.
Christmas is not all about Orchard Road, fake (or real) snow, presents, and log cakes.
There is a great faith behind all these celebration and goodwill.
Forgive those who have done wrong to you,
understand other people's differences,
and listen with an open heart.
If you do want to get to the US to study in 2006,
and to those who have gone, come back in peace after your study,
this Christmas is crucial.
We can only affect people around us,
not what world leaders think,
but at least we have done our part.
Merry Christmas!
May joy and happiness stay with you.
