Another one!
One more Chinese article that I feel worth sharing... This one is not cliche. I feel that it is quite important. For those in America, chance for you to keep in touch with Chinese!
Btw, CS, are those 2 group photos in your room yours or your roommate's? And did you learn any Cantonese from him? Haha :)

yes, that is MY messy room. Anyway, that article you post is quite bad. I assure you that once you visit the museums in chicago, you will know the disparity in standard between we have and what others have. Anyway, to put "elitism" above income inequality is simply weird. Income inequality is a problem and a growing problem in singapore where more than 70 % of the working population (or population) do not pay tax. Anyway, I will consider ngiam dong how as an english elite...interesting
I don't need to get to Chicago to know about this disparity in standard, even in terms of soft culture. I just need to compare Singapore between other countries and regions in Asia-Pacific. Frankly I can't accept Singapore's drama serials as "good", but apparently a lot of people feel they are. The Ah Beng recruits in my unit often do not seem to be able to communicate effectively with my MO, because most of the time they do not understand each other. The point is not income inequality; it is about cultural divide. In other words, those who are able to embrace and appreciate ideas of a higher level should be able to "change channel" and accept the "coffee-shop" culture without prejudice and despise. Although we may seem to be able to do that on the surface, but subconsciously?
